The GLOBE program

Earth Networks has teamed up with the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program – An international science and education program focused on promoting STEM teaching and learning in the classroom.

GLOBE is sponsored by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Department of State.

In addition to providing localized weather information, your Earth Networks weather station can automatically send real-time weather data directly to the GLOBE Program, a worldwide community of students, teachers, scientists, and citizens working together to better understand, sustain, and improve Earth’s environment at local, regional, and global scales.

Led by NASA and started in 1994, The Globe Program’s mission is to promote the teaching and learning of science, enhance environmental literacy and stewardship, and promote scientific discovery.
